Glowing Poppies Bring in the Spring

Old-fashioned poppies glow like stained glass when the sun shines behind them in early morning or late afternoon. Although their silky petals look delicate nodding on slender stems, satin- petalled poppies are both easy to grow and surprisingly hardy. Perfect to sow in early spring, you can choose among our 11 distinctive varieties in all their beautiful range of forms and colors, as well as our new Rainbow of California Poppies bonus packet.

Read our article "Poppies: Modern and Heirloom" for details and photos.

Renee and Trial Garden Manager Lindsay Del Carlo designed a succession vegetable garden map for the early spring issue of newsstand magazine Garden Ideas & Outdoor Living. Check out this garden plan  for continuous harvests all season long.
