Seeds That Make A Difference

Every year, Renee's Garden donates seeds to a wide variety of organizations and educational programs worldwide that work to improve social, economic and health conditions and promote sustainable organic gardening practices.

We also encourage retailers to donate unsold Renee's Garden seeds to local non-profit organizations at the end of the season.

We are pleased to share a sampling of  their successful outcomes.

Recipe of the Month:
Renee's Chicken Soup

Here is my family’s favorite comforting chicken soup, which I guarantee will  make you feel warm and happy.

Try it anytime, but particularly when you are feeling under the weather or cold winter conditions are getting you down.

This month Trial Manager Lindsay and Assistant Manager Mila will return from the winter break. They usually start the gardening year here by pruning fruit trees. They will then plant out the perennial carnations, violas, pansies and columbines that have been waiting in our unheated greenhouse. Unlike the severe weather elsewhere, our area has had relatively normal winter weather: nights in the high 20's and daytime in the 50's with intermittent rain.

"Eat the View!" is a campaign to urge the Obamas to plant a large "Victory Garden" on the First Lawn with the produce going to the White House kitchen and to local food pantries.

Sign their "White House Food Garden Petition" which will be delivered to President-elect Obama along with a diverse collection of heirloom seed packets.
